What does working with me look like.
I thought it was time to explain what working with me looks like. Many people have asked for a blog on this, so here we go. Most of my clients find me through a specialist website, such as Fertility Support Trained. We are a growing group of fertility acupuncturists who have completed an intensive six-month course focused on complex fertility issues, including reproductive immunology, endometriosis, PCOS, stealth infections, and more. While many general acupuncturists take a weekend course to enhance their knowledge of fertility, our training is significantly more comprehensive. After completing the course, we become members of a community that engages in continuous professional development (CPD) and monthly training on the latest testing, IVF clinics, and top consultants in the field. Our extensive training has earned us a high level of respect within the industry.
The next step is to book a discovery call with me. This is a free 15-minute conversation where we can chat and determine if we are the right fit to work together. It’s important that you feel comfortable choosing an acupuncturist, and this call is a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the process. If everything goes well, we can schedule your first appointment for a full consultation and treatment.
During the first appointment, which is a longer session, we will delve deeply into your health history, starting from your childhood. Past experiences can have a significant impact on your future health, so it’s essential to cover this background as we explore where you are now. This will take place in a safe, welcoming environment where you will be listened to and can share your journey with me. I prefer to see both partners during this appointment, as fertility involves both individuals, and working together is the most effective approach.
After our initial meeting, I will send you a written report summarizing our discussion and providing you with recommendations for supplements, diet, lifestyle changes, tests I suggest, and any specialists you may need to consult (though this isn't always necessary). As a Fertility Support Trained acupuncturist, I have access to a network of top specialists and can facilitate referrals, often allowing you to bypass lengthy waitlists. Some examples of specialists include urologists, reproductive immunology experts, vaginal microbiome specialists, and those who conduct 3D trans-vaginal scans.
From this point, it’s up to you to decide how to proceed. Some clients travel long distances for this initial appointment, while most within driving distance choose to continue with weekly sessions for about three months, as this is typically when we see the best results. Throughout this period, I am your wing-woman, ready to answer any questions you have. We will work together, monitoring your progress, making adjustments as needed, and often observing improvements in your health along the way.
