Strengthening Backs & Soothing Shoulders Workshop

Acupuncture and Yoga Back and Shoulder Workshop coming to Om is Where the Heart is in Slaithwaite.

 Here at Points we will be joining forces with the talented Grace from GEM Yoga again to bring you a new Workshop on Sunday the 29th of April 11.00-1.30. This time we are strengthening backs and soothing shoulders.

Is the feeling of carefully rolling yourself out of bed in the morning with a tight back familiar? Do you drive long distances and lay on your steering wheel for a split second of relief whist the lights are red? Do you no longer have the same range of movement in your shoulders? If you've nodded your head at even one of these then this could be the workshop for you. We will start with a little anatomy on how your back and shoulders function and how we can help stop problems and pain in these areas with yoga, posture, acupuncture and acupressure.

We will then go into postures and breathing techniques to soothe your body and calm your mind. You will be provided with safe and different ways to enter certain postures, which postures to avoid and even the correct way to sleep. Grace will then end her session with guided meditation and a lavender eye mask to help you completely zone out.

You will then relax into the taster acupuncture session. Acupuncture can help relieve the pain from back and shoulder problems by stimulating the body to release its own natural painkillers, it does this by stimulating the sensory nerves in the body by releasing feel good endorphins that help to kick start the body to heal itself. The session will include a back and shoulder acupuncture treatment and advice on acupressure points you can use at home.
